God does wonders.

Hey everyone.  The past week has been an amazing time of seeing Gods power in my life and the lives of others.  We started off the week by heading to Kyampisi a community about one hour east of Kampala.  When we got there we stayed at a place called Jesus house.  Their we met a team of amazing people who love God and love people.  I had so much fun with the people there doing things for God and for the people in the area.  The first day we got there we got settled into Jesus house and got to go see the area we would be working in.  We met a couple people in the village and went to go see one of the wells in the area.  Later in the week we went and cleaned two of the wells.  So the next day we went back to the village and went to a school there.  Then we started slashing.  Now that may sound a bit extreme but it really just means clearing land of vegetation so they can use it for other things.  They plan on building a church there later.  So we used these things that were shaped kind of like a golf club but were used to swing and cut grass.  Then we started to paint the school and got most of the outside done. 

The next day we went to the village and did some door to door.  Then later in the week we split up and cleaned two of the wells in the area so that the people could have clean water.  We did alot of other things during the week like did more door to door, went to a school to talk with some kids and played soccer with the local team.  Meanwhile when we were back at Jesus house we got to know the people that we stayed with better.  We met two young boys there who already had amazing testimonies.  One boy named Allen had been a victim of child sacrifice, something that still goes on and needs to be prayed against, and was left for dead.  But God was watching over him and he was rescued and brought to Jesus house were he is protected and loved.  Now he runs around and acts just like any other seven year old boy.  He is soon getting surgery so that his head will be better protected and we will continue to pray for him.  We also met a amazing little boy named Moses who was born early and even now at seven months only weighs about four pounds.  But looking at him you see such life and I know God is going to do great things in his life one day.  He stays at Jesus house as well.  But that’s not the end of the amazing things God did.

One day during church a girl was brought to the front who had become mute about a month back.  When we started to pray for her she began to act strange and was acting unnaturally.  After praying for awhile the leaders decided she needed to be taken back to Jesus house.  I felt so much compassion for her because she was under the influence of an evil spirit.  When took her back to Jesus house and the next night we began to pray for her again.  She again began to act in strange ways trying to struggle and run and she could not open her eyes.  I had never seen a person being controlled by something evil before but we did not fear because evil has no power over the Holy Spirit.  After a few hours of praying she began to calm down though she was still unconscious.  And after a while she completely calm and she was delivered from the evil spirit.  The whole time all I could do was pray and ask for her to be delivered and God did so.  I prayed in tongues as well something I have been doing lately but had never done before this trip.  

But the last night we were their was the most amazing one.  Our team leader gave as a small word on the Holy spirit and we just a had a long talk about how we were feeling and I got to let out some of the frustrations I had been feeling for awhile.  So after alot of talking we started to pray and ask the Holy spirit to come and me among us.  When it did hit it hit hard.  One of my team members fell to the ground and I was overcome with joy and Holy laughter.  The Holy spirit was there and it was so amazing we were in awe. I cant even describe it.  That was one of the most amazing nights of my life and I didn’t sleep till quarter after five in the morning.  Just being in the presence of the Holy spirit is an awesome thing and you have to experience it for yourself.  The next day was a bit sad.  We met alot of amazing, kind funny people at Jesus house like Robert, Stalker who’s real name is Tony, Peter, Rebecca, Moses, Allen and many others I cant think of he names at the moment.  I hope I get to see them all again one day.  Now we are back In Kampala.  We are all safe, but please pray for the people here in Kampala.  There was three bombings here last night so please pray for the families of people who lost loved ones and that God would protect the people of this country.  I have been picking up the guitar and I just finished writing my first song.  God is great.  God bless you all.
