We are no longer a team, we are a legit family. I love being with these people. I could have not asked for a better support system. And to think, we were strangers less than 5 weeks ago. God has truly blessed us with a compassion for each other, and I am so thankful for that!
I met a ton of people this week doing door to door ministry in the ‘flats’ in Kampala. One defining thing that ran through many of the people who were not Christians was this: the reason they had not accepted Christ was not because they didn’t believe.. but they felt that they needed to lead completely perfect and sinless lives before they gave their hearts to Christ. This was the situation I came across in over 2/5 of the apartments I entered (I know, I know.. super random number). The idea of grace and that God forgives and then totally forgets our sins.. baffled the people. That is the reason many people I know get saved: to know that God is there to not judge when they do mess up, and the people here are scared of even coming to God with ANY baggage.
I was blessed to meet Grace. A 19 year old girl with no parents, and a completely broken heart. She opened up to us but still held a lot back. We came back the following Sunday to do an intimate bible study with her but her boss was still sleeping so we decided to come back a different time. She is a Catholic but here when you are Catholic, it doesn’t nessicarily mean that you are a born again believer. Jodi, Rachel, and I are going to continue to pursue this girl’s heart for the Lord. Her burdens are heavy, but Jesus is SO ready to take those off of her shoulders. Pray for Grace’s heart to be totally ready to receive the Word.
We’re headed to Kyampisi tomorrow. Only an hour away.. so excited to see what the Lord has in store.
Thank you again for all of the love and support .. we surely appreciate it 🙂
Blessings, blessings, blessings
