African Dance Party

“Life is a dance party for these Africans” (Samantha). This statement made by Samantha describes the journey we have seen so far in Africa. That is 1) they love to dance 2) they love to sing 3) they love to do both at the same time. They are some of the most joyful and loving people. That does not just include our Ugandan friends that we got to travel to Gulu and minister beside. But also the children we encountered of all ages. We first got to experience the enthusiastic worship at the Church of the Resurrection in Bugolobi before we left, but each journey we took around Gulu in our huge flat bed truck we experienced it. You can truly learn what passionate worship is when staying in Uganda.

Traveling to 15 schools in Gulu we got the opportunity to minister to students and draw their attention in with a couple skits and dance numbers. Mostly it was not our team that did the dancing. But we would occasionally  throw our moves out there for all to see. Because of the fact that we stand out in ALL crowds, all our moves were seen. Even the bad ones (which most of mine are).

But the passionate desire to worship through dancing and song has impacted my view of the culture and my own worship in a way I will probably never change. God is so worthy of our best and we should not hold back the love that is in our hearts for him. So I would encourage you, worship God with all your heart. Don’t be embarrassed to dance for Jesus. I have and it has been such a wonderful experience so far!
