Many of you have heard about the Alpha van. It is the ministry van. The Alpha van is used for many more things than just the team’s transport. The van is sometimes used as the employees’ transportation, as well as the family of the employees, and it has often saved a random pedestrian from a 3 mile walk into town. Unfortunately, the Alpha van is old and tends to break down a lot. It puts quite a lot of stress on the Alpha staff (Alpha is the hotel we stay at, which is associated with our church) when it breaks down, because it means transporting into town becomes a lot more difficult. Fixing the van becomes very costly and time consuming, but Alpha must pay for the frequent mechanic bills because they cannot afford to buy a new van.
I know you have all put a lot of effort into supporting the team financially and in prayer, but I want to ask for your assistance in another part of our ministry. We have prayed as a team about it, and we feel God is asking us to raise funds for a van for Alpha, and to give it to them as a gift. I would be an incredible gift for the staff and for the ministry Alpha does, because it means so much less physical and financial stress. The cost of the van is approx. $10,000 USD.
