A Forgotten People

Ok, so I know at least one other person has already written about our prison ministry here but it means a lot to me, so one more prison blog comin’ up!

I have had a passion for the least of these for a long time, you know, widows, orphans, the poor, and the prisoners… the prisoners? They usually aren’t the first category of the least of these that peoples’ hearts go out to. They are guilty of crime and deserve punishment. They have hurt people and lived selfishly. On the other hand, who of us can say he/she hasn’t done the same? We all deserve punishment and it is by the love and grace of Jesus the Christ that we are ransomed.

Prisoners are in dire need of mercy. While much of the world scourges them, I believe God calls us as Christians to give that mercy to them.

I have personally felt that calling in my life and our prison ministry here has been such a joy for me. I can’t believe I can worship the same God along side these forgotten people and love on them they way Christ does. So far, both Zane and I have been blessed to share a few words with them, and the whole team was blessed to lead over ten of the prisoners to Christ. Praise the Lord! Matthew 25:40

In Christ,
